(Washington, DC) – February 28, 2018 – Lindsay Slaton made her debut in the Gospel music scene in August 2013. Since the release of her first CD, Close To You, fans have been enjoying songs like “Call On Jesus”, “I Still Believe” and her 2017 release, “Paid It All”. Now the DMV Christian Music Award Winner for Female Contemporary Gospel Artist of the Year and six-time Rhythm of Gospel Award Nominee returns to the airwaves with a brand new single, “Joy”. The bouncy and inspirational cut is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and other digital retailers.
Produced by Jeshua “Tedy” Williams, the track showcases Lindsay’s growth as an artist, a songwriter and a woman of God. The maturity is clearly heard in her riveting vocals and convincing execution. The up-tempo, groove-laden track is not only a great song to dance to, but it’s reminder to the believer of better things to come. For Lindsay, the song is even more personal. If things had been a different way, Lindsay may not have even had the opportunity to record the song at all.
Several months ago, Lindsay started feeling ill. She went to the hospital and doctors diagnosed her with pneumonia. “After antibiotics didn’t work, I went to another hospital where they did some emergency tests,” she says. “When the nurse came back with the results, she said, ‘Don’t move. Don’t move at all. You have a blood clot and we don’t want you to move’,” recalls Lindsay. After taking medication, the clot disappeared, but Lindsay knows that God saved her life. She says, “I was doing all sorts of things during that two-week period; I was traveling and ministering and the clot could have broken at any time. I know it was God who protected me. That one incident made me realize that I don’t have time to waste. I must share the songs that the Lord has given me.”
The experience has given her a newfound joy and even more to sing about. Slaton is prepping the release of a sophomore CD. As yet untitled, the project is chock full of songs of encouragement and hope. Fans of Lindsay’s ministry can expect the project to drop in fall 2018. With a schedule that’s getting busier and busier, Lindsay has been singing in her local Washington, DC area for a variety of events. Recently, she was the featured artist for Baltimore’s Heaven 600’s Unplugged Event. Many have been blessed by her television appearances on networks and programs including TBN, Babbie’s House, Atlanta Live and Club 36. Her most recent release, “Paid It All”, is moving up the BDS charts and was chosen as the “Pick Hit of the Week” on The Brother Marlon Show on SGN The Light. The music video has gained attention nationwide as well. Lindsay is active at her local church, New Hope Church of God in Waldorf, MD, pastored by Dr. Aaron R. Jones, where she is a member of The Voices of Inspiration and the Praise & Worship Team. For more information about Lindsay Slaton, log on to www.lindsayslaton.com.
